How to choose the right neutral wall color from Dulux?
Neutral tones are among the best-selling Dulux colors every year. Classic, versatile and… slightly confusing when you’re looking at 50 nearly identical samples.
Finding “the right white” has its hidden pitfalls. It may look perfect in the catalogue — but then at 3:00 PM it turns yellowish, and by early evening it appears sterile.
As interior designers, we strive to choose colors intentionally — not standard or impersonal. Below, you’ll find a selection of the best neutral tones from Dulux, undisputed and well-established favorites.
But first, a few professional tips from us:
Absolute White is a very чист and bright white, neutral to slightly warm, without strong undertones, which makes it suitable for modern and clean interiors.
It is an excellent choice for walls and ceilings when you want a максимально светъл and fresh effect.
Pure Brilliant White by Dulux is a cooler white compared to other shades. It has soft grey-green undertones, making it a perfect choice if you want to avoid creamy or yellowish hues. This makes it especially suitable for modern, bright, and minimalist interiors, although in darker or north-facing rooms it may appear cool.
Polished Pebble is more of a cool neutral shade in the greige (grey-beige) category. Although it carries a slight warmth, the overall effect is clean and grey-leaning, making it ideal for modern interiors and rooms with plenty of natural light.
Summer Linen is a warm, neutral tone with a delicate creamy-beige nuance. It creates a cosy feel without being too dark or too bright, making it ideal for living rooms, bedrooms, and spaces with natural light. It has a warm character that balances cooler light and adds a pleasant, calming atmosphere to the interior.
Timeless is a soft, warm creamy white by Dulux, quite similar to Summer Linen but slightly lighter. This neutral tone brings both warmth and brightness to any room and pairs easily with furniture and textiles — in other words, a true classic.
Almond White is a shade with a warm, soft undertone reminiscent of fresh cream. It adds delicate light and calmness to a space without being overly bright or overpowering, and it combines harmoniously with natural materials and wooden flooring.
Nutmeg White has a more noticeable beige-brown undertone, giving it a warm, earthy character that enhances and adds depth to walls. Yellow tones are minimal, which appeals to a large number of people. Its furniture equivalent would be the increasingly popular “Cashmere” colour.
Egyptian Cotton is one of the most preferred and loved beige-white shades by Dulux. Warm and soft, it creates effortless elegance, pairs easily with other elements, and remains a favourite choice for living rooms and bedrooms in both classic, rustic, and modern interiors.
